runner-environment-508 — Go 1.22 and 1.23 Removed from Tool-Cache on June 22, 2026

Source: actions/runner-images#14237 (opened June 15, 2026 — TODAY)

Impact: Starting June 22, 2026, Go 1.22.* and 1.23.* are removed from the tool-cache across all GitHub-hosted runner images (ubuntu-22.04/24.04, macos-14/15/26, windows-2022/2025 and arm variants). Workflows using actions/setup-go with these versions will still work but must download Go at runtime (30–90s added latency). Workflows that assume Go is on PATH without setup-go will fail.

Categories: runner-environment (x1)
